Social Media

As an intern for the marketing department of both Hotal Duval and Soludos, I worked with many different social media platforms to help build brand awareness, generate interest and make meaningful connections between the companies and their consumers. I worked with several familiar sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+, in addition to building profiles on websites like Menulus and Wordpress. I can offer a great deal of creativity and organization in the realm of commerical social maedia.

Although I worked with all of the social media for Hotel Duval, my main Facebook project was their dining outlet Shula's 347 Grill. I updated the page daily to keep content current and gain a larger audience. I created contests, posted food images, and advertised events to generate feedback.

My primary task for Hotel Duval's Twitter was the Level 8 Lounge page. I tweeted on a daily basis, often retweeting posts from Facebook. On some occasions, I tweeted multiple times a day. For special events, I posted pictures and updates.

Menulus is a new social platform that was recently developed to display menus for restaurants. One of my tasks as Hotel Duval's intern was starting a Menulus page for the hotel. It includes tabs for each of the different outlets--Shula's 347 Grill, Level 8 Lounge, LeRoc Bistro and The Front Porch (owned by Hunter &Harp). Each menu is separated by courses and includes both food and drinks. Pictures accompany every item.

In my time at Soludos, I focused heavily on the improvement of their blog. Using Wordpress, I would format posts and pictures, organize the archives, and create/edit content for new stories. Click on any of the above images to be directed to their site and some of the blog contributions that I constructed.

Additonally, I would schedule the week's social media posts for Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ using Hootsuite. I would also check in on their Pinterest and Instagram profiles on a daily basis, keeping the material fresh and interesting.
